How to get a YouTube transcript
- Copy the video link from the address bar or the Share button (youtube.com/watch, youtu.be or a Shorts link).
- Paste it into the box above and press Check link. We read the video's length without transcribing anything.
- See the exact price and pay once. Optionally choose a translation language first.
- Download the transcript as TXT, TXT with timestamps or SRT. The link is also emailed to you.
Why not just copy YouTube's own transcript?
YouTube shows a transcript only when a video has captions. Many videos have none, and automatic captions often lack punctuation, get names wrong or are in the wrong language. We transcribe the audio from scratch, with punctuation and paragraphs, in the language that is actually spoken.
Long videos
Videos up to 60 minutes cost $1, and podcasts, lectures or live-stream recordings up to 10 hours are still a single order for $3. The page shows real progress while long videos are transcribed.
Translated transcript and subtitles
Choose a translation language before paying and you get the transcript in the original language plus a translated TXT and SRT with the same timings, for example to read an English video in Spanish or to publish Arabic subtitles.
Which YouTube links work?
Public and unlisted single videos, Shorts and finished live streams. Private, members-only and age-restricted videos cannot be reached; download them and upload the file instead. Playlists and channels are not supported: paste one video at a time.
Add the SRT to your own video
YouTube Studio accepts SRT files as subtitles: add a subtitle language to the video and upload the SRT as a file with timing. A translated SRT from the same order can be added as a second language the same way, and both stay in sync with the video.
